Replication and High Availability solution required for the New Electronic Patient Record system. Part of the Millenium Application – T.R.U.E. (Transparent access to patient records, Real-time bed state, Unversal smart requesting, E-prescribing)
We provided RAC, Data Guard, Grid Control design and Implementation, Database and SQL BAU support including; MS SQL 2005, 2008 and legacy Oracle DB’s.
Patient records and other ward and hospital data where constantly being changed, appended to plus new records produced this information was passed to the main application and finally to the replicated database via a bespoke queuing and messaging system. There are plenty of online transactional processes running with these clustered applications with public facing external and internal web interfaces. Plenty of database tuning and constant scheduled computations of the existing database were required to have OLTP databases running efficiently.
We installed Oracle SOA Suite with weblogic, carried out the administration of Weblogic and SOA via Oracle Enterprise Manager. An ETL processes was run to cleanse the legacy data, using SQL Server SSIS, Oracle BI alongside Oracle OWB within an Oracle OEM interface.
The project was a truly challenging but rewarding and the customer was very satisfied with the results.
